Síndrome de WOLFF-PARKINSON-WHITE

un síndrome de conducción cardíaca anormal, en el cual los impulsos sinoauriculares son transmitidos a los ventrículos simultáneamente por medio del nodo sinoatrial y una vía anormal. Los impulsos atriales preexcitan los ventrículos a través de una fibras llamadas haz de Kent que hacen un by-pass, de modo que los impulsos llegan a los ventrículos antes que los impulsos transmitidos por el sistema de normal de His-Purkinje. Se produce un acortamiento del intervalo P-R y un alargamiento del intervalo QRS. En algunos casos, puede ocurrir una taquicardia supraventricular que puede ser fatal si el gasto cardíaco se reduce demasiado. Este síndrome es más frecuente en niños con enfermedades cardíacas congénitas, especialmente en aquellos con la anomalía de Ebstein. Muchos pacientes son asintomáticos

Goodhart's law

Goodhart's law is an adage often stated as, "When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure". It is named after British economist Charles Goodhart, who is credited with expressing the core idea of the adage in a 1975 article on monetary policy in the United Kingdom:

Any observed statistical regularity will tend to collapse once pressure is placed upon it for control purposes.

It was used to criticize the British Thatcher government for trying to conduct monetary policy on the basis of targets for broad and narrow money, but the law reflects a much more general phenomenon.
